About Ocean Beach, Fire Island

Ocean Beach is the largest and most vibrant town on Fire Island, a barrier island 32-miles long and a quarter mile wide just south and parallel to Long Island. The community has a friendly and laid-back atmosphere, and features many different restaurants, bars, and local shops, all within a few blocks of each other.

Adding to its unique charm, cars are not allowed in Ocean Beach. The entire town is a network of walkways and boardwalks, and the only vehicle you might encounter is the occasional bicycle.

We decided to get married in Ocean Beach for a few reasons. First, we have been visiting Ocean Beach every summer since our first year together, and have formed a lot of great memories. Second, we felt a weekend-long celebration here would have the feel of a destination wedding, while still remaining local and accessible. Lastly, we feel the tone and the vibe of the town itself reflects our attitudes and the nature of our relationship. We wanted to give those who are important to us the chance to see how we spend our time together each summer.

A beach paradise only an hour from Manhattan, we have grown to love this small community, and plan to one day have a home here. So we decided to start our life together here, and hope you can join us to be a part of it.
